1.jpgWhen most people hear the phrase "Sun City" the first thaought that comes to their mind is "retirement". While it's true that Sun City Hilton Head is an age-restricted 55 and over community, it's residents are far from "retired".

The fact is that this is probably one of the most active communities in the South Carolina Low Country. While in most local communities the golf courses are the center of activity, the two golf courses in Sun City are only a small part of the recreation, sports and activities available to residents. Among the other sports you will find in the community are tennis, paddle tennis, croquet, bocce, horseshoes, softball, swimming, biking, racquetball, table tennis, fishing, and volleyball.

2.jpgThe heart of Sun City Hilton Head is the recreation campus. Designed to resembe a town square, here you will find many buildings that house clubs and events for the residents. The Pinckney Social Hall hosts dinners, dances, movies, theatre, and the major social events during the year. There are also billiard tables, card rooms, and a computer room.

Nearby is the Yemassee Crafts Building, host to classes and clubs for painting, sewing, ceramics, and more. Speaking of clubs, there seems to be a club for every interest and activity imaginable. Do you like fishing and hunting? There is a club. Do you like debating? There is a club. Do yu like lunch? There is a club. Not only are their clubs encompassing the entire community, but most of the neighborhoods within Sun City have their own social clubs.

The community also has three fitness centers, two clubhouses, four swimming pools, two restaurants, and more walking and biking trails than you could cover in a weekend. Truly, there is something for everyone at Sun City Hilton Head.
